The importance of water

During the project there were several activities regarding water, both the importance of clean water and also how to save water. Below is some example of this activities.

Seminars

During mobility 2 we had the honour to have a seminar with Farhana Borg, PhD, Associate Professor at the University of Dalarna. The presentation was about sustainability in pre-school and contained for instance discussions about the 'Sustainable development goals' and that all aspects about sustainability is connected to social, economic and environmental (the holistic perspective!)

'Teaching strategies and practicies in preschool education for sustainable development' was another seminar during mobility 2, from Anders Ohlsson, PhD and the University of Dalarna.

The seminar highlighted that outdoor education is especially important for children, to stimulates their senses/learning, to create experiences to reflect on, health and make their brain stronger. It is important that the teacher act as an Co-disc, Co-investigator, Co-acting, Co-experiencer. being involved and available. The tasks should involve all feelings for children, including the need of Look, Listen, Feel, Smell and Taste.

Good examples of activities is for instance the a) Subject path, where children are aspected to find as many leaves as their can, Create the alphabet out of leaves, sticks, and other materials and to think about 'How does the nature sound in differrent seasons of the year'. Create a nature picture can also be a good task and together give it a name thats fits.
